About Haigh Show

Haigh Aspull & Blackrod Agricultural Show

The show usually refered to as Haigh Show is correctly titled Haigh Aspull & Blackrod Agricultural Show.
The label agricultural is perhaps a little misleading since the competitions taking place on show day are open to EVERYONE .Ok not everyone can lay their hands on a cow or sheep, but you would be surprised at least in the sheep section as to how few of the exhibitors are actually farmers, but take a look in the horticultural section schedule and most people with a small garden,or a patio of pot plants could find or better still aim to have something that can be entered. Many of the poultry exhibits come from enthusiast who keep chickens on an allotment the same is probaly true of the rabbit section also. How many of you go to evening classes to
develop skills such as needlework ,photography, baking drawing and painting all of these and many more are catered for and the show is much more enjoyable if you are exhibiting something and you could take home a trophy.
A list of section leaders can be found here.A phone call is all it takes to get a schedule, or they can be printed directly from the website. The sooner you get a schedule the sooner you can prepare something to enter(there are simple rules and instructions as to how your exhibit should be presented).
